The Austin Professional Chapter is the largest chapter of The Association for Women in Communications, which is a national professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era.

AWC Austin has been awarded the Outstanding Chapter Award, for excellence in overall programming and service to the community, from the National Organization eight times. The chapter also boasts seven National AWC Headliners among its members and has awarded more than $23,000 in scholarships to students in the field of communications since 1989.
